The Wahlburgers closed its location inside the Westfield Mall in Trumbull with little notice except a sign on the window that says "Closed Until Further Notice."

Started by Mark and Donnie Wahlberg in West Hollywood, the chain has grown across the country during pre-pandemic times to more than 50 locations.

There's been no word on any possible reopening, but the restaurant's location has been removed from the business's website.

The hot burger store opened in October 2017 under franchisee John Sullivan.

The business franchises its restaurants to independent operators, for $40,000 for each location and then collects six percent of royalties.

To help support the restaurants, the brothers make guest appearances. In 2019 Mark Wahlberg drew a huge crowd when he visited the mall in Trumbull.

To, date, more than 600 restaurants have closed statewide since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Connecticut Restaurant Association which launched a #Save CTRestaurants campaign earlier this week.
